Where to Send Amazon FBA Removals (and Recover the Value)
When Amazon storage fees force you to pull stock, the removal order needs a US address that can actually do something with the inventory. Send it to a 3PL, not to disposal, and most of it goes back on sale.
A removal order needs a US ship-to address. Send removed units to a 3PL that inspects and regrades them, not to Amazon disposal. A capable partner resells 60 to 70% as new, FBM or graded stock, and can re-prep the good units straight back into FBA. Disposal recovers nothing; a 3PL recovers most of it.

Why sellers remove stock in 2026
Amazon 2026 made holding stock expensive. Aged-inventory surcharges now start at 181 days and climb steeply, on top of monthly storage. Once a SKU stops selling fast enough, the surcharges can cost more than the stock is worth. The fix is a removal order, but a removal order is only useful if it goes somewhere that can recover the value.
What a removal order needs
When you create a removal order in Seller Central you choose between disposal and return, and a return needs a US ship-to address that can receive freight. Many sellers, especially those based overseas, do not have one. That is the gap a 3PL fills: it gives you a real US address, and unlike your own garage, it does something with the boxes when they arrive.
Disposal vs a 3PL address
Disposal is final. You pay a per-unit fee and the stock is gone, recovering nothing. Amazon liquidation recovers a small, fixed percentage and you have no control over it.
A 3PL return address flips the equation: the stock comes back to a dock where it is inspected, regraded and put back on sale. For the fuller comparison of exit options, see our guide on Amazon FBA returns.
What happens to removed stock
At a capable 3PL, each removed unit is:
- Inspected for damage and completeness within about 72 hours.
- Regraded, sellable units are separated from genuinely damaged ones.
- Resold, typically 60 to 70% goes back on sale as new, FBM, or graded offers, or is re-prepped straight back into FBA once it is worth restocking.
Only the small remainder that is truly unsellable gets disposed of. Your write-off shrinks from 100% to a fraction.
Setting up a US removal address
The steps are straightforward:
- Open a 3PL account and get your dedicated US return address.
- In Seller Central, create a removal order and enter that address as the ship-to.
- The 3PL receives, inspects and reports what is recoverable.
- You decide: resell through other channels, re-prep back into FBA, or dispose of the small remainder.
How Think14 handles removals
Your removals come back to our owned Texas dock. We inspect within 72 hours, regrade, and resell 60 to 70% across Amazon FBM, Walmart, eBay and your own store from one inventory pool, or re-prep the good units back into FBA at $0.75 a unit. You get a US removal address that recovers revenue instead of a bill for disposal.
